I have had the opportunity to play a bit with the beta version of DabbleDB. I am very impressed with this web tool. Basically DabbleDB is a web based database. Its interface does not feel like I’m working on a web based tool, but more like a desktop application.
Take a look at the Dabble DB screencast video and I think you will get a very good understanding of this tool and how tools such as this are changing how we look at applications and software. I have already made a few little data capture applications for use at my school and plan to use this type of tool to create a tool so that my teachers can enter assessment data and I and support teachers can gain access to it as it is entered. The export features are very exciting including RSS. Once set up, I should be able to subscribe to a teachers Dabble DB application, and receive RSS updates as she enters new student data.
This is a very impressive application, web based or not…

This sounds VERY cool. Could you give a more specific example of something you’ve build with Dabble? I’ve very intrigued and would love a real-world example.

I checked out the screen cam on Dabble DB and it looks similar to something like ZohoCreator or others, but still looks like its going to be short of being able to script things and provide for add-ins. Is that a fair statement?
I recently posted on the possible power here of this kind of approach, but it seems like these things are toy-like right now. FYI – my post is at:

Would love to get your reaction based on your experience.
