
I’m traveling today back to Portland after attending a family wedding on South Padre Island. This morning before heading to the airport I took a walk on the beach and came upon a baby sea turtle release being organized by the Sea Turtle Patrol of South Padre Island. One of the volunteers offered to take my camera take some close up shots. You can follow the image link above to see more photos of the turtle release.


























Wow! That is something I’d NEVER get to see out here in PA. A bear, maybe, but not sea turtles being released like that. VERY cool.
As one lady at NECC said to me, “I think that’s shazam!”

Yeah, it was pretty nice. I just happened to wake up early yesterday and thought I’d go for a walk and came upon the group. The folks doing the release were very nice and informative. While waiting for my flight in Houston I did some research and learned quite a bit about sea turtles and the efforts of these folks. Hope your summer is going well Jim…
