Good to see the focus on the arts here. As important as creativity is these days, it makes me realize we need to step up and do a better job on the arts in our district.

I was fortunate to hear this piece when it originally aired. Pretty amazing how many billions of dollars are just floating out there in huge investment funds. Imagine if school districts in a state could all pool any money left over at the end of the school year, and start building a massive billion dollar "rainy day" fund.

Yes, a fascinating talk, especially the figures he gives comparing the amount of time spent watching TV and the amount of work in writing everything on Wikipedia. But I'm not convinced we're all 'looking for the mouse' - I'd like to think the time 'wasted' watching TV will diminish but not sure it's so straightforward or simple for most people!

Thanks for sharing this! Great motivation for getting up off the couch. I'll share with my Springboard colleagues, they certainly know how to put social surplus to work! (And, I give props to the professor, cuter than Maryann or Ginger.)

Since I posted my earlier comment, a new version of Photo Dropper has become available and I've updated my instructions for amending the code to avoid the validation issue:

http://www.verso.co.nz/tools/60/photo-dropper-for-wordpress-validation-problem/

However, Wordpress 2.5 has now been released and the list of compatible plugins at http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugins/Plugin_Compatibility/2.5 does not list Photo Dropper as compatible.

The earlier version of Photo Dropper does not appear to work with Wordpress 2.5, not yet sure about the new version...
